Well what can I say, this was our second trip with HTG and they never cease to amaze me. They made our trip to Bosnia memorable and they communicated from the moment you book with them till you arrive safely back home. Most of all they listened to my concerns and dealt with any issues and supported me as my husband became ill, thank you to HTG and everyone who made this trip possible and left me memories that will last a lifetime. Will definitely be coming back for more inshaallah. Jzkl

*UPDATED - 24th Sept 2025* I travelled with four other ladies on the Wild Bosnia trip which took place from 16th - 21st September 2025. Despite enjoying most of what the trip had to offer, a major incident occurred which comprised my safety whilst undertaking a hike. Despite being told by HTG prior to booking this trip, that it was suitable for individuals who had not partaken in hiking before, essentially it was suitable for beginners etc. I was left behind alone, whilst the group partaked in a small hike prior to wild camping. I was left alone in the woods for over two hours. I decided to take a walk, but I was extremely anxious being on my own, coupled with the fear of something bad happening to me etc. Imagine if I had tripped or hurt myself, how would anyone locate me as there was no phone connection? I didn't even have water with me as I forgot to take it with me, because I was so overwhelmed with sheer emotion of what had just happened. Bosnia is also known for its wild large animals, such as bears, wild boar, wolves, and various deers. My safety was severely compromised. Leaving a team member alone for over two hours - if this had occurred in England, there would have been damaging consequences for the company. Despite feeding this back to HTG team, they immediately dismissed the unprofessionalism and lack of care that had taken place, and instead have put the blame on me by not disclosing I had fear of heights or ocd as a medical condition etc. I would like to make it clear that these aren't medical conditions, and this also includes phobias. Instead of taking responsibility and accountability of what had happened which was against ethical practices to what they promote from an Islamic perspective, I was made aware that I would not be able to book again in the future. There is no love lost and there are many other reputable companies out there, but what is extremely dissapointing is for an apparent professional company like HTG to NOT acknowledge that they had not followed the health and safety regulations and this could lead to a legal implication if escalated further. It was also fed back to the host in Konjic whose accommodation we were based for most of the vacation, and even she agreed that this was truly unprofessional. I got told by HTG, that I had not disclosed such fears on "medical forms", however despite disclosing my dietary requirements, none of these were communicated to the host. There was another lady who was travelling within this group who specifically had made it clear that she can only eat gluten free, again this was not communicated to the host. Two other ladies had not even received medical forms. To anyone wanting to book with HTG, please don't be fooled by glossy brouchers and do your research before investing your money. Also, it was made apparant that this trip had originally had the scope to sign 20 people, but only five actually joined, misleading the host to believe that a larger group would be joining, causing her a loss. Five ladies including myself had joined the trip. Three of us vowed that we would not be travelling with them again in the future. In addition to the above issue, there were communication issues. Also we were told that we would have HTG accompanying us on this trip, but this was not the case. Another lady, who had travelled with HTG prior to Spain, also confirmed that she was also misled by the team, that HTG team would be travelling with them, which did not happen. Simply, if you don't want your safety to be at a risk, or want to experience a professional service, then please refrain from booking with Halal Travel Group.

Salaam Sadia, Thank you for sharing your reflections on the Wild Bosnia adventure. We are truly sorry to hear that parts of the experience left you feeling distressed. Our priority is always the safety and wellbeing of our guests, and we regret that you did not feel supported during the hike. For clarity, Wild Bosnia is designed as an outdoor adventure involving rafting, hiking, and wild camping in mountainous terrain. For everyone’s safety, we ask all guests to disclose any health conditions or phobias before booking so that we can assess suitability. This information was not provided on your forms, which made it very difficult for our team to adapt once on the mountain. Our guides are trained to balance the needs of the group with the safety of each individual, and in this case, the decision made was with both those priorities in mind. We understand this trip was not the right fit for you. We are grateful for your feedback, which we have reviewed with our team as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our processes. Halal Travel Guide has been running group trips since 2018, and our guests consistently highlight the professionalism of our local partners and the care we put into curating authentic, safe, and welcoming experiences. We are sorry this was not your experience, and we wish you the very best in your future travels. Warm regards, The Halal Travel Guide Team

Such a well balanced trip. It had a little bit of everything: culture, history, faith, natural beauty and adventure. Have recommended to everyone and would definitely travel with them again.

When I booked this trip, I thought I was simply signing up for a holiday. What I didn’t realise was that it would turn into something far deeper and more meaningful. This wasn’t just sightseeing – it was an immersion into Bosnia’s history, culture, and people, and it left a lasting impression on me. The theme that runs through the whole journey is authenticity. Every day we met and spoke with Bosnian locals, hearing their stories first-hand. Some were deeply moving, especially when people relived their personal experiences of the war. These weren’t distant, abstract accounts you’d read in a textbook – they were raw, human, and told in a way that was both tangible and digestible. It gave me a perspective I couldn’t have gained anywhere else. The itinerary itself was brilliantly thought out – diverse enough to give you a flavour of Bosnia’s key cities and sites, but also filled with personalised experiences that made each day unique. It struck a perfect balance between history, culture, and natural beauty, all delivered in a way that felt well-organised and seamless. What really stood out for me was how much I learned about Islamic history in Bosnia. To see the strength of faith and resilience in the people, despite everything they’ve endured, was humbling. I left in awe of their courage, their hospitality, and their warmth. Bosnia is a country that truly deserves far more recognition and visitors than it currently receives. And then there’s the country itself – absolutely stunning. From its mountains and rivers to its historic towns and vibrant culture, Bosnia has a beauty that takes your breath away. Combined with the kindness of its people, it makes for a destination that stays with you long after you return home. This trip wasn’t just a holiday; it was an important journey – one that broadened my understanding, touched my heart, and left me inspired. I met amazing people along the way and feel this experience was a perfect introduction to Bosnia. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate – go. You’ll come back changed, in the best possible way.

We just did their Bosnia trip (November 2024). The trip was one of the best trips we have had in a while ! It is well organized and headache free. They take care of everything - food, transport and of course intenrary. The guides are all local to the cities we visited which makes them the best of guides: knowledgeable and dedicated. They are all very polite with a great sense of humor (although I suspect all Bosnians are). The other amazing part of this trip is its variety - it included history, nature, good food and shopping! All in 7 days without feeling too cramped ! Bosnia in my opinion is a must see and I would do it with halal travel guide again if I had the chance !
