Today you’ll walk on the very same land where some of the most blessed people have lived. Our local guide will take you a few miles north-west of Amman, where lies the ancient town of As-Salt. It's thought to have been built by Alexander the Great's army over 300 years before the birth of Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him.

It's in and around Salt that many significant figures in Islamic history - along with - Judeo-Christian traditions, once lived.

Prophet Shuaib (Jethro), Prophet Yusha (Joshua), and Prophet Ayyub (Job) all have marked burial grounds that you’ll visit today. You’ll then be taken to visit the final resting places of some of the closest Companions to the Prophet ﷺ and learn more about their lives and stories.

Today, you'll check out of your hotel in Amman and begin the journey to Petra (3 hrs + stops). We'll make multiple stops along the way.

First, you'll visit Mount Nebo, where you can enjoy beautiful views over Palestine on a clear day. One of the most revered sites in Jordan, Mount Nebo is believed to be the spot where Prophet Musa once stood overlooking the Jordan River towards Palestine.

From Mount Nebo, you’ll be taken to Kerak, where you’ll visit the site of the Battle of Mutah, the fiercest battle fought during Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ life. The close companions of the Prophet SAW were martyred and buried here, including Zaid Ibn Harithah, Ja'far Ibn Abi Talib, and Abdullah Ibn Ruwahah.

We'll then continue the drive to Petra stopping for lunch on the road along the way.

Today, prepare yourself for an enthralling journey through history as you visit the over 2,000-year-old Nabatean city of Petra. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and celebrated as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Petra stands as a testament to the architectural prowess and ingenuity of the ancient Nabateans.

Our knowledgeable local guide will lead you through the winding siqs, past the iconic Treasury and deeper into the heart of this rose-red city, sharing tales of its rich past, its rediscovery, and its significance in the annals of history.

Today you’ll drive around 1.5 hours from Petra to Wadi Rum, where you'll explore the red sands of Wadi Rum on an adrenaline-inducing 4x4 safari ride through the desert.  

Our local Bedouin guide will take you through the red sands of Wadi Rum to explore this Mars-like landscape. We'll then head back to the camp for a traditional lunch.  

You have the option to join our sunset camel ride before we spend the evening sharing stories and enjoying Bedouin tea around the campfire. 

Spend your day at leisure in the desert. You may choose to relax at the camp, enjoy a short camel ride, or take a final stroll across the red sands before we travel onwards tomorrow.

Overnight in Wadi Rum

It's farewell to the south of Jordan, as we check out this morning and begin the drive back to Amman. We'll leave after breakfast - the earlier, the better - so you can arrive in Amman by early afternoon. The drive is around 4 hours before factoring in stops to rest, sight-see and have lunch.

Just before arriving in Amman, we'll stop at the Cave of the Seven Sleepers (mentioned in the Quran), which is one of the possible places where the youths and their dog spent over 300 years sleeping.

We'll then finish the drive to Amman and check-in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy as you please. Head into Downtown for bargain buys and local street food, or rest at your hotel before you travel tomorrow.

After breakfast, we’ll take you back to Queen Alia International Airport for your return flight home.
